ABSTRACT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The absence or failure to identify and correctly manage pain impairs the recovery of newborn admitted Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), with long-term consequences. objective was describe knowledge nursing team on evaluation management term preterm newborns in NICU, as well daily challenges. METHODS: Descriptive, cross-sectional study a quantitative approach, developed public general hospital Sao Paulo.
